Four Penjamins, one wallet, zero spreadsheets. Here’s how 3.0, 2.1, 2.0 and the reusable ECO actually differ, and which one suits you.
You opened the shop to buy one pen. Twenty minutes later you’ve got four tabs open, two of them say “Penjamin”, and you’ve started reading version numbers like a phone launch.
3.0, 2.1, 2.0, ECO. Somewhere in the back of your mind there’s also a Duo. It sounds less like a vape range and more like a family that ran out of baby names.
Good news: the differences are real, they fit on one screen, and the table below does most of the work.
This guide lines up the Penjamins you can order right now (the pre-filled pens sit in our THC alternatives, the ECO device under accessories), says what each product page actually lists, and helps you pick one in about the time it takes your kettle to boil. If you’re still at the “what even is a Penjamin” stage, start with What is Penjamin? and come back. We’ll keep your seat warm.
Pick your Penjamin in ten seconds
| If you want… | Pick this | One thing to know |
|---|---|---|
| The newest pen, with a screen that tells you everything | Penjamin 3.0 | Shows battery, voltage and puff count; USB-C cable not included |
| A gentler draw, fewer extras | Penjamin 2.1 | Battery indicator; no puff counter or voltage settings listed |
| A short, quick session | Penjamin 2.0 | Leak-proof, battery indicator, no settings to learn |
| One device you keep, cartridges you swap | Penjamin ECO | Needs REFILL Penjamin ECO cartridges |
First, the family tree
The Penjamin line grew one version at a time, and each newer product page describes itself as the step after the last. Today’s line-up starts with 2.0, which replaced the original 1.1 ml Penjamin. 2.1 calls itself “the next evolution after 2.0”. 3.0 calls itself “the next step after 2.1”, with a new device as well as a new blend.
The ECO sits on a different branch. It’s not a newer number but a different idea: a reusable device that takes replaceable cartridges, instead of a pre-filled pen you finish and replace.
And the Duo? The PenjaminDuo 1+1ml is the two-chamber Penjamin, two strains in one pen, and we mention it because people ask. Don’t wait by the window for this one, though: it’s currently sold out, and so are the bundles built around it. If you want several Penjamins in one order today, the Penjamin Selection bundle further down is the closest thing.
One note before the line-up: we stick to what the product pages list (plus our own 2.0 vs 2.1 post where noted) and skip the rest. Marketing copy loves a superlative; this post prefers a spec sheet.
1. Penjamin 3.0: the one with the dashboard
Best for: people who like to know exactly where they stand.
The headline feature is the display. 3.0 has a screen that shows battery level, voltage and puff count, plus an oil window so you can see how much is left. If you’ve ever shaken a pen next to your ear like a mystery present, this is your upgrade.
Here’s what the page lists:
- 1 ml of oil, pre-filled.
- Usually 250–400 puffs per pen, depending on how long you draw and which voltage you use.
- A 280 mAh battery that charges over USB-C. The cable isn’t in the box, so check that drawer of tangled chargers first.
- Adjustable voltage, set with the button; the pen itself is draw-activated, so you simply inhale.
- Seven flavours: Lemon Haze, Pure Weed Terpenes, Strawberry Diesel, Cherry Pie, Blueberry, Grape Ape and Mystic Berry (check the product page for what’s in stock right now).
Every flavour holds the same blend and differs only in taste, so choose zesty, earthy, sweet or juicy and get on with your evening.
Compared with 2.1, 3.0 adds the puff counter, adjustable voltage, an upgraded blend with what the page calls a smoother inhale, and a device that it says clogs far less (both pages are very proud of their unclogging).
2. Penjamin 2.1: the easy-going middle child
Best for: people who want a gentler draw and nothing extra to look after.
Penjamin 2.1 keeps 2.0’s pocket-sized design and battery level indicator. What changes is the blend and the feel: the page describes a smoother draw than 2.0 and an improved flavour and aroma profile.
Its page also promises a “clog-free system”. It doesn’t list a fill volume, puff count or battery size; if numbers matter to you, 3.0 is the one with the full spec sheet.
Middle children are often underrated, and 2.1 is a good example: no puff counter or voltage settings to fiddle with, just an easy-going pen. If you’re torn between it and the original, our Penjamin 2.0 vs 2.1 post goes through both side by side, and the Penjamin 2.1 page has today’s price and reviews.
3. Penjamin 2.0: the classic
Best for: people who want the familiar one and no decisions.
Penjamin 2.0 is the oldest Penjamin still on sale. It replaced the original 1.1 ml Penjamin and fixed that model’s clogging. It has a battery level indicator, a leak-proof design and a rich terpene profile.
Our 2.0 vs 2.1 post describes 2.0 as the shorter, quicker session of the two and 2.1 as the longer, smoother one.
Think of 2.0 as the film you’ve seen five times: no surprises, and that’s the point.
4. Penjamin ECO: keep the device, swap the cartridge
Best for: people who’d rather refill than replace.
The Penjamin ECO is the odd one out in a good way: the Penjamin for people who keep their phone for six years. It’s “the reusable device made for Penjamin Eco Refill cartridges”: you keep the rechargeable device and replace only the cartridge.
The device has a puff counter display, adjustable voltage settings, a preheat function that the page says gives smoother starts, and a leak-proof cartridge connection.
The cartridge, sold as REFILL Penjamin ECO, is where the blend lives. It carries “the same upgraded cannabinoid formula known from 3.0” and is designed for the Penjamin ECO device; no other devices are listed. Less waste than a disposable, by design.
So if you like the sound of the 3.0 blend but would rather not finish a whole pen each time, ECO is the route. You buy the device once, then restock cartridges.
Five questions that pick for you
Still undecided? Answer these honestly, and go with your first yes.
- Do you want to see your puffs, battery and voltage? Penjamin 3.0.
- Do you hate throwing a device away? Penjamin ECO plus refill cartridges.
- Do you mostly care about a gentle draw? Penjamin 2.1.
- Do you want the familiar one, no learning curve? Penjamin 2.0.
- Do you genuinely want to try them all before choosing? The Penjamin Selection bundle has two of each: two 3.0, two 2.1 and two 2.0. A tasting flight, minus the tiny glasses.
If you answered “all of the above”, congratulations: you’re the Selection bundle’s target audience, and possibly a product manager.
Good habits, whichever pen you pick
The pen changes; the common sense doesn’t. (Sadly, no version number fixes that.)
- Start low, go slow, and read the product page and the packaging before use.
- Adults 18+ only. Store pens out of reach of children and pets, like any other battery-powered device with liquid inside.
- Never drive or operate machinery after using a psychoactive product. No exceptions, no jokes.
- Charge with a proper cable. Penjamin 3.0 charges over USB-C and ships without the cable, so use one you trust.
- Check the page before you assume. Specs differ between versions, and the product page is always the up-to-date source.
The Penjamin shelf
If you’ve made it past the five questions, your kettle has boiled and you probably have a favourite already. Two easy places to land, no spreadsheet required:
- Pen 3.0 Pack: five Penjamin 3.0 pens in one go, for anyone whose decision is already made and who’d rather not reorder next month.
- Penjamin ECO: the reusable device on its own, for anyone who already has REFILL Penjamin ECO cartridges or wants to start small.
Want more options? Each product and bundle page lists exactly what’s inside. Rules on cannabinoid products differ between EU countries and change often, so please check yours before ordering.
Penjamin picking, answered
Which Penjamin is the newest?
Penjamin 3.0. Its product page calls it the next step after 2.1, with a new device that shows battery, voltage and puff count, adjustable voltage, and a smoother inhale.
What is the difference between Penjamin 3.0 and the Penjamin ECO?
Penjamin 3.0 is a pre-filled pen (1 ml, USB-C rechargeable) that you replace once the oil runs out. The Penjamin ECO is a reusable, rechargeable device that takes REFILL Penjamin ECO cartridges, which hold the same formula known from 3.0. You keep the device and swap only the cartridge.
Is Penjamin 2.0 or 2.1 the better pick?
2.0 if you want a shorter, quicker session; 2.1 if you want a longer, smoother draw. Both have a battery indicator, and our 2.0 vs 2.1 post has the full side-by-side.
Can I still buy the Penjamin Duo?
Not right now. The PenjaminDuo 1+1ml is sold out as of October 2026, so this guide sticks to the four main Penjamins you can order today: 3.0, 2.1, 2.0 and ECO.
How much should I use the first time?
Start low, go slow, and read the product page and the packaging before use. These products are for adults 18+ only, and they don’t mix with driving.
